Kenya's prime minister challenges vote results

NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) ? Kenya's prime minister says he will not concede defeat and will contest the election result in court.

Raila Odinga, who lost the presidential election, said Saturday that "democracy is on trial" after the country's election process experienced multiple failures.

Odinga spoke less than two hours after the country's election commission on Saturday named Uhuru Kenyatta the winner of Monday's presidential election with 50.07 percent of the vote.

Odinga appealed for Kenyans to respect the rule of law.
