New season on tap for BMX racers

Cedar Rapids BMX will kickoff off the 2013 season with a practice on April 25 and the first race two days later.

The season concludes in November with several riders taking part in the USABMX Grand National in Tulsa, Okla.

There are several additions including this season, including strider balance bikes for those who haven?t quite mastered the pedal bike; consolation races for those who did not qualify for main events; and open, mixed-age classes for riders wishing to get extra races against varied competition.

Our traditional schedule will include a Redline Cup qualifier, an Iowa State Championship qualifier, Race For Life and a scholarship race.

The Iowa Games BMX race will once again be held at Cedar Rapids BMX on July 13.

Cedar Rapids is sanctioned by USABMX and is the only BMX racing facility in Eastern Iowa.
