Campaign for Safe Cosmetics Manager-The Breast Cancer Fund

Location:
San Francisco

Organization:
The Breast Cancer Fund is a San Francisco-based, national nonprofit organization that works to prevent breast cancer by eliminating our exposure to toxic chemicals and radiation linked to the disease, translating science into practical actions people, policy makers and companies can take to protect us from toxic exposures.

The Breast Cancer Fund coordinates the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, a national coalition launched in 2004 to protect the health of consumers, workers and the environment by securing the necessary reforms to eliminate chemicals linked to cancer, reproductive harm and other adverse health impacts from cosmetics and personal care products. The Campaign?s work is multi-layered and innovative, effectively weaving together public education, market-based and legislative strategies to engage the public, move cosmetics companies toward safer production, and secure stricter regulation of the industry.

The Breast Cancer Fund more recently launched Cans Not Cancer, a market-based campaign designed to get manufacturers to stop using the toxic chemical bisphenol A (BPA) to line their food cans and move toward safer alternatives.

The people who work at the Breast Cancer Fund and the Campaign are passionate about what we do and committed to excellent work done in a collaborative environment. For more information visit?www.safecosmetics.org,www.breastcancerfund.org?and?www.breastcancerfund.org/cansnotcancer
